Elopement in Edinburgh // Wedding photographer

pintopinterestSomething really exiting for me. This intimate and romantic elopement in Edinburgh. Thank you Laura and Jp!

“It doesn’t seem real but 3 and a half years ago we didn’t know that eachother existed and now we are a family of 3 (5 including our fur baby boys!)

We met online on the dating website plenty of fish where we found there is indeed plenty of fish. We each met a few pleasant, funny and downright weird “fish” before we met each other! But we soon both left the site as we found in eachother that we both fitted together perfectly. What I was looking for was someone to share adventure, family and laughter together and we found it in eachother.

We both enjoy travel and the outdoors and so over the years we have found ourselves in wind, rain and snow on mountains in Morocco, Wales, Greece and of course Scotland among other hills and countries! We love history and beautiful city’s and we created magical memories in beautiful places like Malta, Rome and of course Edinburgh!

Once we felt we had enough happy adventures to hang up our walking boots for a short while we settled down to family life and we were blessed to welcome our darling boy Rhys to the world. Really I feel like I have everything I ever wanted. A kind, funny, patient man who is my best friend, a beautiful boy who links us forever and has been a wonderful source of joy (his cuteness makes up for any sleepless nights he may have caused us!) and we are also lucky to be surrounded by the best family and friends whom have been very forgiving of our naughty elopement!

JP proposed with a bit of help from his boy. They woke me one morning with a lovely surprise. Rhys was wearing a baby vest that said “mummy, will you marry my daddy?” How could I refuse? Especially when JP suggested a romantic wedding on a hill in Scotland!

Our elopement on Arthur’s seat was the magical, romantic wedding we both dreamed of. We felt it fitted us perfectly and we got to say our vows on the hillside in our boots and thanks to both Serena’s and our luck, the sun shone in beautiful Edinburgh. The sun has always shined in Scotland for us and Serena has yet to photograph a rainy wedding!! If you want a dry but slightly cloudy day for your wedding then Serena is your perfect choice!

The hand binding ceremony is a  Celtic tradition where the phrase “tying the knot” originates and we loved the ceremony and the way the photography came out. The ribbons were our something borrowed from my mum so that made it even more special. The humanist vows reflected our values and beliefs about marriage and life perfectly. Rhys was the perfect wedding guest, our best man, ring bearer and my something blue!

We had the best day and Serena and Francesco captured the romance and joy perfectly. We can’t stop looking at the photos. Thanks a million for providing us with such beautiful memories to look back on and we are definitely booking in for an anniversary photo shoot when we next visit Edinburgh!”
